Why are Jews the chosen people?

Nearly all of the middle east hates America. However, we are still welcome in most middle eastern countries even tho we are famous for being big bullies. However Israel Jews are not permitted at all in most middle eastern countries and signs hang in all the mosques "kill the Jews". Hitler tried to kill them all too. So can anyone tell me what it is the Jewish People are doing to the entire globe to incite such a massive death wish on themselves. Why would God like them best since they don't even believe in Christ to begin with and if they are so chosen, and kill others over "turf" when God surely put this planet here to be shared by ALL his children, not just the chosen? These questions plague me so any serious answer is welcome here.
